Parlement en Raad eens over inhoud nieuwe richtlijn interne markt (en) - Montesquieu Instituut

The European Parliament (Legal Affairs, JURI) and the Council have agreed on the content of the directive on interconnection of business registers. This is the first result by the Minister of Business and Growth during the Danish Presidency.

This directive will facilitate cross-border access to official business information, which will be publicly available across the EU through a European portal. Individual registers will be obliged to exchange information electronically concerning branches and cross-border mergers. Cross border access to company information will result in more transparent business information in the EU.

The Minister for Business and Growth, Ole Sohn:

”The proposal accommodates an increasing demand for cross-border access to quality company information, and will facilitate cross-border activities of companies in the EU. It further strengthens interconnection of the national business registers and will ease the access to important business information throughout EU.”

The Minister for Business and Growth, Ole Sohn:

The Polish Presidency came a long way with the ne-gotiations and we have now agreed on the content of the directive with the European Parliament. This proposal will modernise and further develop the Single Market at this time of crisis. I am looking forward to finalising more legislative files during the Danish Presidency, which can strengthen the Internal Market and support the growth in Europe.”

This political agreement is subject to approval by the European Parliament, the Commission, and the Council.
