96th Plenary session of the Committee of the Regions - Hoofdinhoud
| datum | 18 juli 2012 - 19 juli 2012 |
|---|---|
| plaats | Brussel, België |
| organisatie | Comité van de Regio's (CvdR) |
The 344 Members of the Committee of the Regions meet in plenary session in Brussels five times a year, to discuss and adopt opinions, reports and resolutions.
European Commissioners and representatives of the EU presidency are often invited to the plenary to discuss issues of particular concern to regions and cities.
The Commission, the Council and the Parliament must consult the Committee of the Regions before EU decisions are taken on matters concerning local and regional government (for example on employment policy, the environment, education or public health).
