Statement by the spokesperson of High Representative Catherine Ashton on the explosions in Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine
The spokesperson of Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, issued the following statement today:
"The High Representative learned with shock and concern of the explosions reported today in the city of Dnipropetrovsk. Her first thoughts are with the victims of these attacks, and with their families and friends, and she expresses her solidarity at this time with the people of Ukraine.
The European Union will maintain close contact with the Ukrainian authorities, with a view to obtaining updated information on the cause of the explosions, the status of the victims, and any means by which assistance can be provided to Ukraine. "
