The Workers' Group of the European Economic and Social Committee is meeting to discuss the possibilities of using the European citizens' initiative in social matters and to examine ways of promoting projects proposed by trade unions in this context.
Worker information and participation in decisions related to corporate restructuring as well as anticipation and management of restructuring operations will also be on the agenda.
Het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité (EESC) werd in 1957 door het Verdrag tot oprichting van de Europese Economische Gemeenschap opgericht als raadgevend orgaan om de belangen van de verschillende economische en maatschappelijke organisaties in de Europese Unie te vertegenwoordigen.
