The National Drug Coordinators meeting takes place, in the framework of the Horizontal Working Party on Drugs, in the capital of each Presidency of the Council of EU. The aim of the meeting will be the exchange of information and best practices on the issue of "Women and Drug Treatment: Issues and Challenges"

Van 1 juli tot en met 31 december 2012 vervulde Cyprus het voorzitterschap van de Europese Unie. Het Cypriotisch voorzitterschap werkte nauw samen met de vorige twee voorzitterschappen: Polen en Denemarken. Deze drie landen vormden samen een 'trojka' (of trio) van opeenvolgend voorzittende landen. Ze hadden samen een programma voor de hele periode opgesteld.
