The aim of the program is to gather in Cyprus 20 young people aged 18-25 from the countries member-states of the European Union who will take part in drama workshops. As stimuli, they will use various literary texts (ancient tragedies, theater plays, poems, communal songs, legends and stories) which are related to the Cypriot tradition and history and are linked inseparably with specific historical monuments of Cyprus.

Van 1 juli tot en met 31 december 2012 vervulde Cyprus het voorzitterschap van de Europese Unie. Het Cypriotisch voorzitterschap werkte nauw samen met de vorige twee voorzitterschappen: Polen en Denemarken. Deze drie landen vormden samen een 'trojka' (of trio) van opeenvolgend voorzittende landen. Ze hadden samen een programma voor de hele periode opgesteld.
