In a more and more globalised world, understanding the impact of EU policies on peoples' daily lives as consumers is becoming of utmost importance.
The European Journalism Centre, together with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Consumers, invites you to apply for a media seminar on the “European Consumer Summit 2012” taking place in Brussels on 29 May.
This press event, running in parallel with the European Consumer Summit, will take an in-depth look at EU consumer policies focusing on the latest legislation on a range of issues such as consumer safety, financial services and air passenger rights. Recent data, surveys and statistics on consumer affairs will also be presented.
Selected journalists will attend the opening sessions of the summit and have the opportunity for interviews with the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Mr John Dalli. They will also have the oppportunity to meet with policy makers from the EU Institutions, leading independent experts in the field and experienced Brussels-based correspondents.
Journalists from accross the EU-27 specialised in consumer issues, those who would like to explore EU consumer policy for their readers, and those interested in developing contacts at EU level in the field of consumer affairs are invited to apply.
To apply, please register online at ejcseminars.eu
The organisers will cover travel expenses, accommodation and most meals.
