Socials systems has changed the Web in different ways. Social network and search engine provider became central entities in the Web. A modern website is usually enriched with a user feedback facility or even a place for user disussions. That\'s sometimes called Web 2.0. The new web is used to find new commercial partners, new friends, to exchange data, to make appointments etc. SmartPhones have made the web mobile. We can be online wherever we are if we have a smartphone and an appropriate wireless infrastructure. Not all people have.
This new Web brought new technical and political issues. This is a technical conference. We are going to discuss social networks from a technical perspective. What flaws are in the Web? What databases are best? What about cloud computing? Do we need other software on mobile devices or are they just some more drops in a cloud. Semantics play a major role in the new Web.
This conference is aimed to bring together researchers, practitioner and any interested party fro a fruitful discussion in these topics. Let\'s discuss the next steps into a better new Web.

Deze organisatie richt zich sinds 2005 op informatievoorziening voor de politieke en lobby-organisaties in en rond Brussel. European Agenda verzorgt een website met nieuws en gratis digitale nieuwsbrieven over evenementen en personele wijzigingen, vacature-overzichten, 'gouden gidsen' voor diverse beleidsgebieden, verslagen van evenementen, een databank met gegevens van organisaties en personen, en uitgebreide zoekmogelijkheden. Hiermee richt de organisatie zich op alle belanghebbenden die te maken hebben met de Europese Unie: EU-instellingen, Europarlementariėrs en hun medewerkers, nationale en regionale overheden, het bedrijfsleven, lobby-organisaties en denktanks. De organisatie is gevestigd in Brussel.
De berichtgeving van European Agenda bestaat onder meer uit nieuws over ontwikkelingen bij organisaties die in Brussel gevestigd zijn, ambtsberichten (zoals benoemingen), vacatures en een evenementenkalender. Het doel van de organisatie is om geļnteresseerde professionals op de hoogte te houden van alle ontwikkelingen omtrent organisaties die aanwezig zijn in Brussel, of zich op andere plaatsen bezig houden met de Europese Unie. Zo bevat de evenementenkalender meer dan 10.000 activiteiten, voorzien van nuttige achtergrondinformatie en diverse functionaliteiten zoals betaalde abonnee-mogelijkheden voor professionals. De database bevat onder meer 13.000 EU-medewerkers en 700 journalisten. De wekelijkse nieuwsbrief bereikt circa 20.000 abonnees uit Brussel, en 15.000 abonnees uit Europese hoofdsteden.
